I have been an avid reader and a lover of books since I was a child. My older sister taught me to read before I started Kindergarten, and I have memories of reading books in class to my Kindergarten friends. Buying books has also been an addiction for me, and I enjoy nothing more than browsing the shelves at my local bookshop for hours.
Todat I recevied an email inviting me to take a look at a new online business opportunity where you can generate passive income. You all know that I’m all about finding ways to generate passive income, so my interest was definitely piqued. When I heard that it was being launched by Robert G. Allen, the author of, The One Minute Millionaire I started to pay attention, but when I heard that the product was books and literacy I was hooked and I had to learn more. I followed the link to Book Wise and I signed up. The site has an exciting video that expains their vision, and I am truly excited about the vast potential this holds. I mean, the product is books! Doesn’t EVERYBODY buy books?
Check out Book Wise and sign up. See for yourself if this is not the coolest thing you’ve seen in awhile. You have the chance to earn passive income, encourage literacy, and contribute to non-profits who are doing great work. I don’t see how you can lose here.

My fellow frelance writing bud, Sharon from the Get Paid to write blog tagged me for this meme. Since my blog has been feeling a tad bit neglected these days, and the topic of this meme is the reason for it I figured, why not?
Writing has taken over my life in many ways, but I consider that a good thing. One of my big goals for this year was to find a way to earn a living using my writing skills. While I can’t exactly live on just what I am earning from writing right now, I am working towards that goal. Since most of the writing that I do is done at home and I have three children with an un-ending supply of needs and wants, I am forced to achieve a balance in the amount of attention that gets devoted to work and the attention that gets devoted to the live offspring.
So, here goes:
1. Family time – Unless I am way behind on a deadline I do not work on weekends, so that is when my girls can have unfettered access to me. We go to the park, do crafts, shopping and just enjoy each other.
2. Exercise – After I drop the girls off at school in the morning I head right for the gym. I do my best to get there at least three mornings a week and then I take a Yoga class at least once a week. Other days I do Yoga at home. Yoga is my lifeline both physically and spiritually.
3. Social time – Yikes. Yeah, file this one under, “I wish I had a social life.” As a freshly divorced single mom, my social life is a bit of a wasteland at the moment. Just as soon as I have gotten over this whole, ‘all men are lying pigs’ vibe, then I’ll feel more in the mood to get out and socialize.
4. Me time – Unfortunately, my ‘me time’ is spent at the gym. I’m multi-tasking ’cause there’s only so many hours in the day.
Balance seems to be a moving target, and the victory is often in the journey. As long as I am on the path I will eventually get there.
Here’s how out of the loop I am: everyone who I was going to tag for this meme has already done it. I guess we are all seeking balance in some way or another.
